This Privacy Policy describes how Sign Sense LLC, doing business as Empathy Elevated (“Company,” “I,” “my”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you purchase services, subscribe to communications, visit pages under empathyelevated.com or its subdomains, or otherwise interact with Sign Sense LLC.

I take privacy seriously. This policy is written to be readable and specific, not to obscure what I actually do with your information.

Information I Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name and email address when you purchase a service, subscribe to a publication, download a resource, or contact me

  • Billing information, including name, email, billing address, and payment method details, collected and processed through Stripe

  • Communications you send me, including messages, questions, coaching conversation content, and anything you choose to share in the course of an engagement

  • Information you provide when registering for workshops, webinars, or other events

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic analytics from pages hosted at empathyelevated.com and its subdomains, including page views, approximate location based on IP address, device type, and referral source

  • Email engagement data from publications and transactional emails, including opens and clicks

  • Cookies and similar technologies used by the platforms I rely on to deliver services

How I Use Your Information

I use personal information to:

  • Deliver the services you have purchased

  • Communicate with you about engagements, scheduling, and service-related matters

  • Process payments and provide receipts

  • Send publications, newsletters, and announcements to subscribers who have opted in

  • Respond to inquiries

  • Maintain records required for business operations, taxes, and legal compliance

  • Improve the services and communications I provide

  • Comply with applicable laws

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Third Parties That Process Your Information

To operate this business, I rely on third-party service providers who process personal information on my behalf. Each has its own privacy practices:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Billing information is submitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.

  • MailerLite — email delivery, landing pages, and subscriber management.

  • Substack — publication hosting, subscriber management, and email delivery for Empathy Elevated.

  • Telegram — asynchronous coaching communication, where that channel is used.

  • Google Workspace — business email and document storage.

I may use AI assistants and productivity tools as part of my own working process. These tools are not integrated into service delivery and do not have access to client accounts, scheduled sessions, or billing information. When used, client-identifying details are minimized.

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes of delivering their services to Sign Sense LLC. I review providers before use and work only with providers that offer appropriate safeguards.

I may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sign Sense LLC, clients, or others.

Data Retention

I retain personal information only as long as needed to deliver services, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

  • Billing records are retained for the period required under applicable tax and business law.

  • Coaching conversation content is retained for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless you request earlier deletion.

  • Subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Security

I use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Payment information is handled by Stripe and never stored on systems I control. Communications and documents are stored in secured accounts with access limited to Sign Sense LLC.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. While I take reasonable steps to protect your information, I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your personal information

  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your information

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time, including by using the unsubscribe link in any email

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have specific rights, including the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Sign Sense LLC does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

European Union, United Kingdom, and Other International Residents: If you are located in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have rights under those laws, including the rights listed above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The legal basis for processing your information is typically the performance of a contract, consent, or legitimate business interests.

International Transfers

Sign Sense LLC is based in the United States. If you access services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and in the locations where my service providers operate. By using the services, you acknowledge this transfer.

Children’s Privacy

Sign Sense LLC services are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact cm@empathyelevated.com and I will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Cookies and Tracking

Pages under empathyelevated.com and its subdomains may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Third-party platforms I rely on, such as Substack and MailerLite, use their own cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.
